General advice on Zika prevention

• Precautions to prevent mosquitoes bites:
  • Wear long, covered clothing
  • Use insect repellent
  • Sleep under mosquito nets or in rooms with wire-mesh screens or air-conditioned rooms to keep out mosquitoes
• Should your partner be potentially exposed to the virus, practise safe sex through the correct and consistent use of condoms, or abstinence, for the duration of pregnancy
• Keep a look out for possible symptoms of Zika virus infection – fever and rash, AND other symptoms like red eyes/ joint pain/ muscle pain/ headache
